So, about a week or so ago, I published the first draft version of the prologue of my new story I've been working on. After doing so, I realised that I shouldn't have done that. My first drafts are horrendous and jumbled up. The reason for this is that I'm usually telling myself the story the first time around, which results in crappy sentences and shallow characters. These things get fixed in subsequent drafts. Therefore, I've decided to wait until my second draft is complete to post the story. That way, you guys don't have to waste time reading a story that's terrible :) I will consider, however, doing a before and after post using the first and second drafts of the prologue (or other part of the story) to show how much change goes on during revision.
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the second draft!

Joy Division Inspired Sunglasses By Warby Parker
As you know well by now, I am a big fan of Joy Division. The band has been a huge influence in music and now in another, less obvious area... Sunglasses! The company, Warby Parker (they have fantastic frames for both regular and sunglasses), has worked with Ghostly International to release today (Tuesday July 16th) sunglasses inspired by Joy Division frontman, Ian Curtis.
What I like about Warby Parker as a whole is their focus towards more unique glasses frames. They have the standards, but they also have really unique frames that look really vintage (and we're not just talking about the hipster glasses). Also, their website is amazing. They have a really cool and helpful virtual modelling feature that allows you to upload a picture of yourself and see how the glasses look on you. It's far more helpful than pictures of people who look nothing like you wearing them. As a last note, all of their frames are affordable, most if not all are under $100 for prescription glasses frames (this is affordable as far as glasses go, believe me).
You can find the Curtis here!
It's a good thing that there's a Warby Parker in San Francisco so I can get a pair!

Make Up Post: 4th of July and Double Winged Eye
So, here's just a quick post about my red, white and blue make up for the 4th and some make up I had for work/going to dinner with family that I thought was really good/fun. Nothing special for now, but I will be posting some writing in the next few days.
I hope all of my American readers had a good 4th.
I realise now that this is also the French flag... whoops. |
The little dots were at first a mistake, but instead of risking messing up the rest I incorporated it. |
I hope all of my American readers had a good 4th.
